I mentioned here that I tasted the best gelato from San Crispino which is creme gelato with caramel and bits of meringue. I’ve been craving it ever since especially under such blazing heat so I decided to recreate it. Since I couldn’t find crème gelato in Doha, I opted for vanilla cream ice cream and made mini meringue following this recipe and topped it off with store bought caramel. I must say even with the substitute ice cream, the meringue and caramel combo is like a perfect marriage and it’s so easy to make. It’s definitely my new favorite summer treat.
