2017. A new year, a new life.
Before I go on with making plans and setting goals for the new year, I want to take a moment to look back and appreciate the highs and lows and the special moments, big or small that had happened last year.
2016 was the most rewarding year for me especially when I became a mother to Naomi Moon Nicolet on 4th of April. I had an emotional third trimester the beginning of the year and went through a rough start as a mother that forced me to take a hiatus, but everything I went through far outweighs the joy my daughter brings me every minute of everyday.
Motherhood made me selfless. I now know that I am capable of achieving anything when it comes from a place of love. I can wholeheartedly care for my daughter regardless of the 24-hour shift and sleepless nights and also demand nothing from my husband, as they are the two most important people in my life. Now, I truly know what it meant to say ‘I just want them to be happy’, because waking up with them every morning and seeing that they are happy and healthy is all I ask for.
Another thing I do from a place of love is Clumsy Chic that I’ve created almost 5 years ago. Blogging is a tough even when people may think of it as ‘just taking photos’. It requires patience, tenacity and hard work to break through the glass ceiling. The only reason why I am able to continue and keep that fire in me is because I truly love what I do and I let my work speak for itself instead of numbers. Winning Grazia Style Awards for Fashion/Beauty Blogger of the Year is for sure one of my highlights of the year, less for the recognition and award but more about the fact that the readers also believe in me and what I do.
On that note, I decided not to make any New Year resolutions for this year and instead to keep on doing, being, growing, helping, connecting… from a place of love. For Clumsy Chic, I’ve decided not to focus on Google Analytics, trending topics, but to connect with you guys and to create content that brings value to all of you. If it’s by me sharing my personal journey and stories, creating something that inspires you, teaching something, then please let me know. I’m incredibly grateful to all my readers who have followed my journey and hope you follow along this year as well.
For those who are interested, I am speaking at the first Bloggers Confessions this coming Saturday, 7 Jan at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Please join me by RSVP’ing your attendance to [email protected] I look forward to meeting and talking to you there.
Happy New Year everyone! Wishing you all a grand 2017.
