…without looking like you just rolled out of bed!
The pajama trend sounds like an excellent wardrobe choice for busy moms like me but I steered clear of this trend for the longest time. As I go about my day with tired eyes, messy hair and a makeup-free face the addition of wearing pajamas outside the house would scream ‘Oh No!’ instead of ‘Ooooooh’.
That all changed when I spotted this beautiful pajama top from Lefties at Mall of Qatar – its beautiful mustard color sold it to me. ‘I’m going to make this work!’, I convinced myself at the check-out counter. What’s the worst thing that could happen? (me being sent for a psych evaluation for emotional distress and exhaustion).
I’ve found that the key to pulling off pajama dressing is first, keep it wrinkle free. Simple as it sounds, it’s always these little tweaks that can make or break an outfit. Second is to find an interesting pattern or color that does not look like pajamas, and no, a “Hello Kitty” pattern doesn’t count as interesting.
If, like me, you’re afraid of diving in to the pajama trend, ease into it by wearing it as a separate. This pajama top was styled with boyfriend jeans and sneakers for daytime, and I would go for a whole pajama look at night with a statement sandals, bag, and an elegant makeup.
Let’s just hope Naomi doesn’t smear chocolate on this silk top, otherwise, it won’t see the light of day again!
