Whenever I travel, I make it a point to stop at a flea market, vintage stores and even local boutiques. I love the thrill of the hunt and finding a special thing to bring home. There’s also something about the connections you make with shop owners who gladly shares their stories from how they make things, where they got them from, and their travels. When in Doha, I usually jump at the opportunity to attend a market. Having gone to Doha Mum’s Autumn Market, I’m so thrilled to find a number of local handmade businesses and boutiques that are sprouting in Doha. Some, I already know and have been following online and some that are completely new and exciting.
Here are some of my favorites:
I haven’t yet figured out what our nursery would look like but the one thing I’m certain about is that I want a teepee in the room. Noknok makes handmade teepees from durable fabrics complete with bunting accessories, pillows, and other decorative items.
Ommi makes a collection of pillow dolls that are representative of the local Arab culture. You can purchase a family of dolls that makes for a great souvenir or to display at home.
Rock N Lolla specialize in handmade rock t-shirts. They are customized to give an average rock t-shirt a unique twist. It’s definitely for people who are looking for something more special than your average t-shirt.
I was happy to see someone selling vintage in Doha. Very Vintage Qatar brings beautiful and affordable vintage pieces handpicked from all over the globe. There are a lot of retro pieces, print dresses, and accessories on offer.
Lisbonnete is a one of Qatar’s first all homemade soap line made from organic and natural products. They are wonderfully packaged and sells unique combinations like ginger cinnamon, and cinnamon coffee soaps. They also have a range of bath salts and bath bombs on offer.
H By Heidi makes beautiful dainty necklaces and bracelets that you can layer together. I especially love the crocheted bracelet and beaded necklace.
Make sure to check their Facebook or Instagram page (by clicking on their name above). If you know of other handmade business and local boutiques in Doha, share them below.

Oh I love how you make time to visit vintage and thrift stores! I wish I had the time when I travel to visit those stores but it looks like you find some great treasures in them!
Would love if you would check out my page - I’ve just posted on the Balmain x HM collection after visiting their showroom here in Sydney and the collection is amazing. Check out the post here: http://ch1k.com/fashion/balmain-x-hm

The joy of traveling is finding these type of beautiful goodies. That tee-pee is the best. Hope you are able to incorporate into your nursery.

I love discovering small independent local boutiques and frequenting them too! It’s great to support small businesses. I would definitely be interested in those homemade soaps, they look particularly delectable. <3
