JANUARY BEAUTY FAVORITES

Moisturize is the word on every women’s lips this winter. It sure is the toughest season leaving our skin, lips and hair really dry. I completely adopt a new beauty routine and toiletries stash during colder months and spend more time in the shower to make sure my skin is well moisturized and hydrated. I use a good scrub (I swear by L’occitane) to get rid of dry skin and lather a small amount of bath oil before getting out of the shower and then gently pat my skin dry with a towel to seal the moisture in. This leaves my skin feeling soft all day long.

I have a combination skin and my face gets easily irritated and dry when it’s cold so when putting my makeup, I concentrate on prepping my skin and applying the right foundation to avoid looking flaky. In terms of makeup look, this is a good season to experiment with a dramatic look and get away with it. Use a dark red lipstick or natural looking fake lashes to achieve this look. I like a heavier scent when it comes to fragrance, my signature scent Chloe Eau De Parfum and I switch to the black ribbon, a more intense version of the original scent.

One last note: We tend to overlook that even our nails and scalp get dry during winter.  Make sure to moisturize your cuticles by applying oil in the shower and pushing your cuticles back. Include a deep hair conditioner for your hair that you can use twice a week. Lastly, I use Klorane dry shampoo everyday to give my hair volume and avoid the unflattering ‘hat hair’.

What are your beauty arsenal during winter?
