It’s officially March and this marks the arrival of Spring, my favorite season, and particularly Doha’s version of 24 degree outdoor weather. What better way to celebrate than by capturing this feeling into an editorial with the ever fashionable, Pooja Adams from Les Rebelles Squad.
I think it’s quite clear that people in Doha, myself included, cannot handle 10 degree weather. Much to my surprise, we are already in March, and miraculously, the weather has cleared itself for that perfect time of the year – Spring.
I have and will always have an affinity for this season. It marks some of the most important dates in my life – my wedding anniversary, the birth of my daughter and my mom’s birthday. This is also the time when I come out of whatever winter funk I’m in and become genuinely excited about the abundance of Cadbury mini-eggs available at the supermarket and spring cleaning my wardrobe to make room for new Spring purchases.
During my hibernation, I’ve been eyeing some key Spring trends and the mood is inherently upbeat. Yes, florals are back and so are stripes but they’re back with more energy and more daring iterations. Perhaps, my favorite trend is the splashes of pinks, which gives me the inspiration to make another fashion film entitled ’50 Shades of Pink’.
But enough talking and let us show you that the mood is daring and upbeat this Spring, as captured in this editorial by the talented and my beauty guru, Sofia Graniello. Here we show how to style the top three trends we are currently coveting right now courtesy of Milly, Karen Millen and Pinko. We loved combining pastel pinks with a highlighter shade in rather matchy-matchy outfits, and then we went bold with graphic stripes while layering unconventional pieces together, and last but not the least, the once ‘floralphobe’ has embraced florals on florals. The key to pulling this look off without looking like a potpourri puked on you is to go with the same color palette, Pooja nailed this one.
I’d love to know – which trend is your favorite?
