SKIN CARE TIPS AND BEST PRODUCTS IN SUMMER

I know it’s time to switch to my summer skin care products when my moisturizer suddenly feels heavy and my makeup smears after 5 minutes in the sun. For me, I like my skin to feel light and fresh and radiate a healthy glow. Although makeup certainly helps, having good skin care products is the foundation to achieving that great summer glow. This means making sure that your skin is well hydrated, protected and smooth.

I have problematic skin and have battled acne all my life so taking care of my skin is my top priority. I religiously follow my skincare regimen to keep face acne-free, but I like to add a few products into the mix to get to keep my skin looking dewy and fresh this season.

1. SK-II Facial Treatment Mask, (QAR 490- Pack of 10): Who knew Hannibal Lecter’s mask is the key to radiant skin? This cotton mask is oozing with vitamins, minerals and SK-II’s secret essence. I like to use this after a flight or when I’ve had only a few hours of sleep. It instantaneously brightens my face. Available at Pari Gallery.

2. YSL Dark Circle Corrector Eye Fluid, (QAR285): This eye cream corrects dark circles, reduce puffiness and brightens up the eyes. It’s also great paired with YSL’s Touche Eclat. Available at Sephora.

3. Dior Eye Reviver Illuminating Palette, (QAR 288): This is technically not a skin care product but this is the only eye palette I found that brightens up my eye in the most natural way. The colors sinks into your skin so it doesn’t look like you’re wearing any makeup. Available at Pari Gallery and Sephora.

4. Biologique Recherche Dermopore Serum, (QAR490): I’m in love with Biologique Recherche products, which is dangerous because they’re quite expensive. This is my favorite serum as it helps tighten pores and rebalances the skin. It’s the only all-natural ingredients product that delivers serious results. Available at Danielle Bejjani.

5. La Roche-Posay Ultra-LIght Sunscreen Fluid (QAR ): Sun protection is so important all year round especially for Doha residents. This is the best sunscreen I found for face and body. It has a weightless texture, sinks into your skin and has a matte finish. Available at most pharmacies in Doha.

6. Avene Thermal Spring Water, (QAR): My go-to summer refresher but I use it after I’ve applied my makeup to let it blend into my skin and seal my makeup in place. Available at most pharmacies in Doha.

7. L’Occitane Shea Butter Fabulous Oil, (QAR): I don’t like the texture of lotion in the summer, as it gets sticky especially with Doha heat. I love this shea butter oil for it’s dry-finish formula and it’s has a hint of fragrance. I use this for my hair as well after flat ironing it. 8. Dior Addict Lip Glow (QAR): I can’t rave about this product enough, but this is seriously the best lip balm I’ve ever used. This balm not only moistens and hydrates but it also brings out the natural pigment of my lips giving me a healthy looking pout. Available at Pari Gallery and Sephora.

9. Clarins Beauty Flash Balm (QAR167): I prep my skin with this mask before applying my makeup for a photoshoot. It automatically gives me that after-facial glow. I also use this as a makeup highlighter as seen here. Available at Pari Gallery and Sephora.
