When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.
Following the same optimistic sentiment, I say when life gives you lemons, make a dress out of it. Preferably squeezed and made into a beautifully crafted summer dress by Giamba. No, the designer is not a Spanish shrimp. Giamba is the new prêt-à-porter line from the eponymous label Giambattista Valli. The designer made headlines when Lupita Nyong’o donned one of his creations at the Golden Globes this year. Think of Giamba like the younger sister coming out of her own shell. It’s playful, modern, colorful and out to make a splash in the fashion world.
Case in point, this smock dress makes for a perfect summer day dress and when paired with black pumps and sleek hair, it’s whole different look fitted for night (think Kate Bosworth in a cocktail dress). As I am an absolute klutz in heels, my Giamba dress will need to get well acquainted with Stan Smith. I think this two will have a long-standing summer fling. And as pour moi, seeing this dress had me proclaiming my love for Giamba (and Gambas for that mattr). See, even with the dead heat of Doha, I can still manage to have an optimistic view of life.
You know what they say “when life gives you lemons”…
