Takinoue Park, Hokkaido, Japan
The flower season in Hokkaido brings a sprawling of 'shibazakura' (pink moss-like cherry blossom flowers) on the hillside of Takinoue park. This to me, looks like a real-life scenery from a Miyazaki animation film.
What’s your favorite color? Mine is Pink. Imagine going around the world, chasing after the prettiest pinks? It may be the Cherry Blossoms in Japan, pink lake in Australia, or staying in a pink house in Greece. I certainly wouldn’t mind going on that mission simply because these places are pretty surreal, it has be seen.
Pink Houses, Burano, Italy
Burano is a small island in Venice famous for its lace and skittle colored houses. It’s a 15 minutes boat ride from the main island of Venice and is a definite must see.
Cherry Blossoms, Japan
People from all over the world flock to Japan during cherry blossom season and most areas in Japan celebrate Sakura season in early to mid April.
Nasir al-Mulk Mosque, Shiraz, Iran
Nasir al-Mulk Mosque is also called the ‘Pink Mosque’. The inside of the mosque is like wonderland with its colorful and dizzying geometric tiles. Every morning, the mosque is illuminated with the plethora of colors from its stained window glass.
Pink Cave House, Santorini, Greece
Stark white and vibrant blues are the colors you associate Santorini with but there’s a particular bubble-gum pink house on the cliff tops of Oia that will take your breath away. The house is built by a Greek sculptor and painter and boasts a spectacular view of Santorini.
Palace of Winds, Jaipur, India
Jaipur is known as the Pink City of India due to a particular color of the stone used for all their constructions. The most magnificent structure is the ‘Palace of Winds’ built with red and pink sandstone.
Cais do Sodre, Lisbon, Portugal
Cais do Sodre, a seedy neighborhood gets a facelift into the hippest entertainment haven with bars, nightclubs and restaurants. The best part is obviously the vibrant pink pedestrian street.
Pink Budelli Beach, Sardinia, Italy
Spiaggia Rosa ‘Pink Beach’ is located in Budelli, one of the islands in North-East Sardinia. No one is allowed to enjoy the beach due to deterioration tourists caused over the years but boat trips are arranged to tour the island.
Lake Hillier, Western Australia
Western Australia is home to not one but three bubble-gum pink lakes, Lake Hillier being the largest of the islands. The 600 meters lake is in the middle of dense woodland of paperbark and eucalyptus trees.
