I used to be a master braider in high school and would try out a braid hairstyle from braided flower bun to cornrows braids. I stopped trying out new braid hairstyles ever since I got a pixie cut and have been growing my hair for what feels like a century. But now that I can tie my hair into a baby ponytail, I’ve been getting really excited about testing my braiding skills again especially this summer time.
The world never seem to run out of braid hairstyle ideas, in fact here are 9 cool braid tutorials that I’m looking forward to trying. I’ll post some photos on Instagram if I nailed one of these looks.
1. Messy Fishtail Braid (Once Wed): master the fishtail braid and make it messy for a romantic look.
2. Tucked Braid Updo (A Beautiful Mess): transform a school-girl braid into something more work appropriate by just tucking it under.
3. Crown-braid for short hair (The Wonder Forest): short hair, don’t care! You can still pull off a braided hairstyle like this one.
4. Center-part braid (Bellasugar): I obsessed over this braid when Kate Bosworth posted it on Instagram. Must.try.now.
5. Half-Up Braided Crown Braid ( A Cup of Jo): who said a crown braid is an undo. This one looks more like a hippy flower crown.
6. Game of Thrones Braid (Popsugar): Who doesn’t get distracted by Khaleesi’s hair while watching Game of Thrones. Try it out.
7. Ponytail braid (The Beauty Department): a cool way to spice up a ponytail
8. Crown and Milkmaid Braid (Love Taza): a cute take on the traditional milkmaid braid
9. Braided Chignon (Lucky Shops): a classic braided look perfect for the office or to an event.
I dare you to try Khaleesi’s Game of Thrones Braid tutorial. Share photos when you do!
