LIVE IN DENIM

There was a slight shift to my personal style since I’ve become a mom. I live in denim day in and day out.

I still love the feeling of getting dolled up every once in a while but the only difference is that, now I won’t compromise comfort over style. Comfort for me is feeling like my true self – carefree, effortless and simple.

A great pair of jeans like a Levi’s 501 is the essence of effortless style. Gone is its reputation for solely making fashion in 80’s bad. Levi’s has revamped its design to have a more modern silhouette yet maintaining that well-loved vintage effect. I scored a pair in a vintage store in Montreal, which have become my go-to pair and at a recent store opening of the Levi’s store here at Gulf Mall, I was surprised to find a cropped frayed 501’s. Cropped frayed denim is the hit jeans style this season and considering it’s a Levi’s 501 makes the jeans double trendy!

It came home with me immediately and have worn it everyday for about a week to get that lived in feel. I wore it in the house as my lounge wear, to a meeting, events and to a play date with baby Moon. It felt kind of nice not having to think about what to wear, especially when I’m in a rush, which seems to be my life right now. I simply rotated my tops and wore either a buttoned down shirt, t-shirt, camisole, or a light sweater.

As someone who loves fashion and likes being on trend, I thought adopting a uniform would get boring but I simply do not have time to care! That’s also one of the things I’ve developed since becoming a mom, I have embraced the ‘messy’ look quite literally. Baby vomit on my shirt? Meh, no problem!
