The best coffee shop in Doha is nestled at The-Pearl Qatar called Flatwhite. I call it a hug in a cup.
When I started working from home, I knew I needed to have a bit of structure to avoid slumping on the couch in my pajama. One of the things that helped me be more productive is getting dressed every morning as if I’m going to the office even if it means switching from one bedroom to another. Getting dressed as well makes it easy for me to run out the door when I need to rush for a meeting or simply need to get some fresh air.
Working from home is great because you don’t need to leave the house, but it can also feel restrictive at times. It can feel stuffy and it’s difficult to then get my creative juices flowing. Flatwhite is only a few feet away from my house and it has become my go-to coffee spot when I need a change of scenery. Not only do they make the best flat white, but I always feel like I’m transported to Montreal and feel inspired again. It’s just nice to have a coffee spot that’s not your typical Costa Coffee or a hotel coffee that costs you an arm and a leg.
Last week, I decided to shoot what I would normally wear to Clumsy Chic office and it’s typically a t-shirt and jeans combo. I threw on this lush velvet blazer as a light outerwear for an afternoon trip to Flatwhite. There’s something about this blazer that makes me feel like a lady boss, but it’s a bit tricky to pull off since velvet is in itself a statement piece. The key is to keep everything very casual with a simple, slightly wrinkled tee, a ripped jeans and hair on a high ponytail.
