September is back to school month, which also means that it’s back to work for adults. I hate to break it to you, but it’s time to ‘work b**ch!’
Kids get excited about new set of school clothes and stationery, why can’t working girls like us get excited about back to work essentials as well? I mean it’s only fair to ease us back to our mundane life with something pretty in our closet.
I’m lucky to work in an artistic company where business attires are not mandatory, but I still like to dress professionally yet stylish enough to make an impression. I’ve adapted a kind of work uniform and rely on work essentials to step up my 9 to 5 office look:
- Shift dress: I don’t feel comfortable with figure hugging dresses, but I do love a roomy shift dress that I wear with flats or treat as a long tunic that I wear with skinny jeans.
- Nude kitten heels: Massimo Dutti- Nude heels goes with everything and the kitten heels is comfortable enough to walk around in for 8 hours.
- Black blazer: Zara- A staple in any wardrobe, a black blazer instantly lifts up my look even if I’m wearing t-shirt and jeans
- Carryall bag: Adolfo Dominguez- With the number of notebooks, agenda and gadgets I need for work, a roomy bag is a definite must have
- Cashmere: J.Crew- I have a cashmere sweater with me at all times to keep me warm in our air conditioned office. I use this as a scarf too, styled like this.
- Oversized shirt: H&M- An oversized shirt is my go-to item especially when I’m running late. It’s easy to throw on and super comfortable
- Black loafers: Kurt Geiger- I wear flats in the office almost 90 percent of the time, and a masculine loafer is my flat shoe preference.
- Midi skirt: Mango- midi skirt is the new skirt length, and I have a feeling it’s here to stay. I wear mine with a tunic or an oversized sweater.
- High-rise skinny jeans: J Brand- A high-rise skinny jeans is slimming and can pass as an office trouser.

Thanks for the comment on my latest post! Too kind
I love fall clothes the best, honestly! I work at a law office, though, and need to dress more professionally. Slacks, khakis, button downs, those sort of things. I’m really simple when it comes to my clothing and jewelry choices, mainly because I hate shopping for clothes, and I hate trying to find a style that works for me. I need someone like you to go shopping with me!

Love the skinnies and denim oversize shirt! All are great fall must haves. I also love sweater jackets and booties, as well as graphic sweaters.
